INFERIORITY COMPLEX

Are you confident? Do you trust in your abilities? Are you able to stand by your judgement? All these entail to self confidence. Having high self confidence is usually adsociated to greater success, joy and satisfaction. Well its not to everyone that self confidence comes easy, others struggle (me included😢). Let me some tips that i found helps gives you that push.

     Speak up for yourself.
Don't become a doormat. Speak up for yourself and have a stand, especially if you are being taken advantage of or its something unpleasant. Don't be swayed by the crowd, have an opinion and stick to it.

Keep learning and trying new things.
Challenge yourself. Find new things to learn and when you become successful, it boosts your confidence. You can try a new language too, it's said to make you smarter.

Look to others for inspiration.
Find someone who motivates you to better yourself. Someone who is good at what they do. You can also read inspiring books or listen to inspiring podcasts to assist you.

       Embrace fear.
When you lack confidence, you tend to be fearful. You fear rejection, failure and humiliation. But when you embrace the fear, you can find ways on how to control it and suppress it.

Show confidence in your body language.
People who are confident in themselves elude a certain aura of strength. You can easily tell a confident person by just looking at them. How you sit, walk and non-verbal cues tell a lot about someone. Do not show what you are feeling on the inside on your facial expressions , try and keep it in. Maintain a straight posture when standing and sitting, and most of all, SMILE.

         Trust your gut.
Ever had a feeling about something and it turns out to be exactly that, thats intuition. Trust yourself more and take your own advice, but that does not mean you should not take advice from someone else. Just give yourself more credit.

Well those are some of the ways to boost your confidence if you are affected by the inferiority complex. Why not try them out and see if they help you out.

CYBER BULLYING.

Cyber bullying is basically bullying done through the use of technology. It is something very common in our world today. In Kenya, this is no new thing. Statistics show that 87% of today's youth have witnessed cyber bullying, 69% of them have experienced it. Of the 69%, 41% are girls while 25% are boys.

The most famous platforms it is carried out is on Facebook groups namely _Kilimani mums and dads_ and _buyers beware_, and not to forget our world famous Twitter community commonly referred to as Kenyans on Twitter (K. O. T)
Most of those experiencing cyber bullying are celebrities, those in the limelight. Exanples of some celebrities who have experienced media bullying are:
Adelle onyango, a former Kiss fm presenter was trolled for not having 'the perfect teeth'. Local musician, Avril, was trolled for having much acnes on her face. Former NTV morning show host Kobi Kihara was subject to bullying after she was accused of stealing and faking her online image. Recently a journalism student and content creator, Azzaid found herself at the centre of it after being body shamed and accused of using too much filters.

Cyber bullying has its effects. Some people are not strong enough to take the backlash and it may take a toll on them. Low self-esteem is one of them. One may not be confident of themselves and will always think lesser of themselves. In addition to that, one's health can be affected. They may suffer from depression and anxiety. Furthermore, one tends to spend time alone, they start withdrawing from people as they dont see themselves fit to intermingle with others. Moreover, someone will start feeling embarrassed of their actions and themselves and in extreem cases, it may result to suicide. The negativity may be too much to bear.

To sum up, never take your time to undermine someone, that just shows that you are idle and do not have anything productive to do rather than spread negative vibes about someone. Not everyone is perfect,we all have our shortcomings, just don't use against someone. Remember cyber bullying is a crime and there can be legal consequences.

ITS NOT ALL DISASTER FROM THE STANDARD GAUGE RAILWAY.

SGR Mombasa terminus

The standard gauge railway.  Once it started its operations, many believed that that is it for their businesses,  especially for the buses and the clearing and forwarding companies. And i do not refuse that yes business is not as booming as usual after the introduction of the SGR as it has overtaken the work but you will agree with me that it does have its advantages. Lets have a look at some of them.

The standard gauge railway has reduced the cost of transporting cargo from Mombasa to the destined places. According to the Kenya Railways Corporation,  it would  cost Ks 50,000 to transport a container through the sgr cargo trains as compared to Ks 90,000 one would spend to transport cargo by road from Mombasa to Nairobi.

Travelling using the standard gauge railway is faster and cheaper as compared to using the bus. It would take you around 5 hours and Ksh. 1000 for one to travel using the sgr as compared to around 8 hours and Ksh. 1200 using a bus. This leads to more travels using the sgr hence more money.

The presence of the standard gauge railway has led to the speed up of industrialization. This has been enabled through cheaper transport it is offering and the establishment of new industries to service the new railway.

Time. In this perspective of time, the standard gauge railways fast as compared to road. This makes it efficient in transportation of perishable goods to the markets for sale. Fasted transportation means more trips hence more goods are able to get sold hence more income.

The above points are some of the ways in which the standard gauge railway has had an impact on the Mombasa economy. Yes, i do not deny it has disadvantages which are probably more and the impact is great but hey, everything has its positives and negatives.

THE MAYHEM CAUSING MONSTER IN THE WORLD’S ECONOMY.

corona virus

Believe me, if you were to cough right now in a public place people will look at you and lightly say “Corona Virus.” That is how stereotypical corona virus has been made. However, there is more than meets the eye because in countries of the Asian region, corona is as serious as their economy. The most hit sector is the economy as it is literally the spine of a country. Let us delve into how corona(COVID-19) has hit or is going to hit this sector.
TRADE
Trade globally has highly been affected by the virus. Countries especially in Europe are the hardest hit. Why would lives of innocent people be risked in the name of trade. This is in the sense that no country would want to risk getting their people sick when they consume goods from countries hit with the virus.
TOURISM
Another hard hit sector is tourism. The number of tourists has greatly declined hence affecting the local businesses depending on tourism. Countries that highly depend on tourism are really feeling the heat.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Events such as sports competitions are now being cancelled because of fear of contracting the contagious virus. This hinders the affected countries from showcasing what they have for trade.
UNEMPLOYMENT
People are now losing their jobs as a result of this pandemic. Places of work are crowded hence it being a risk of easily contracting the virus. So as to prevent this from happening, most people are opting to leave their jobs. This in turn affects the economy of the countries. The people themselves have also lost a means of earning income and making ends meet may start being a hustle.

The virus that first hit headlines in China on February is doing a lot of harm worldwide. The cure is yet to be discovered hence make sure you exercise proper hygiene to protect yourself.

CAMPUS LIFE AND ITS STRIFES

Who wasn't eager to join the university after high school? The teachers would motivate us into studying by telling us that life was not hard in campus.(That is soo false). we were all pumped up to get done and proceed to the next phase of our lives. The phase that sets the pace for our lives. The phase that sets the pace for our lives.Where we either mould or break our life as they say.
Life in campus is full of ups and downs. Starting from the early morning lectures set for 7.00am which are three hours long. By the time you are done for the day, that is,if you have two or three classes that are three hours long, you are completely worn out. Assignments are done against the clock as one remembers the work the night prior to submission and sometimes you just turn to copying a fellow student's work.
Financial strains are another major issue. Money is never enough. You find that students feed on a particular meal everyday because we are on a budget."chapo pojo"or"chapo beans",these words are quite familiar to every  student in a university. Some students try to beat this financial problems by looking for a job to supplement what they are sent for.
In campus there is lots of peer influence. You get that you can easily start using drugs and leading a certain way of lifestyle all due to the company you start hanging out with. Drinking and clubbing becomes the order of every weekend, not that I'm against it,we all have our ways of having fun, right?
Relationship triangles are a norm in the university, mostly which are toxic. Some are lucky to find their mate in campus but most relationships don't go past the campus.Despite the long lectures, hard to deal with lecturers, financial constrains, all the peer influence, there are also good things, after all give the devil his due. I got to meet new people, make new friends. Its said that mostly the friends you make in campus are for life.
All in all, campus life is one of a kind, its an experience on its own.

LOVESTRUCK😷

              LOVESTRUCK.

Love is a beautiful thing. To me, love romantically,is a bond shared by two people which is often indescribable. It's only the people involved that get to understand it. Love is not supposed to be complicated, love is like a pill that gets you hooked and   sinks you bait and sinker, probably that's why it's so common especially in campus.

The students get into relationships and expect it to be all bliss and a fairytale but shocks on them. Left, right and centre, there are cases of toxic relationships 24/7,365 days in a year. Mostly we hear about beating or murder of a beloved.what we do not see or hear are misuse of one another. One party benefits while the other does not. In essence, toxic relationships are not only about the physical harm but also psychological and emotional.

Recently we have been hearing cases of students murdering their partner in cold blood for instance, a lady, Ivy Wangechi, a student at the Moi University Eldoret was killed murdered by the boyfriend  using an axe, last year. I believe there are better ways of solving conflicts in a relationship rather than turning to murder. If you see that your relationship is doing you more harm than good please  leave. Your life and peace of mind is of great value.

Bottom line, you do not have to have physical marks to know you are in a toxic relationship. If it causes sleepless nights, self doubt, inferiority or emotional distress get the hell out. Sometimes what we say that love is blind actually is ignorance. The last thing you'd want is to mistake the former with the latter. As a great man once said, if you cannot take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Its your peace of mind and life that is precious and matters the most.
